Incenti Insights and the analytical features of Incenti EDOS draw on data licensed or obtained from the sources below. This page states where the data comes from, the terms that travel with it, and how to cite Incenti when you publish work that uses it. It is the page referenced by Schedule B §§ B.6 and B.8 of the Master Subscription Agreement.
1. Where the data comes from
Federal statistical and administrative sources (public domain as U.S. government works, 17 U.S.C. § 105; agencies request source citation): Bureau of Labor Statistics · U.S. Census Bureau · Bureau of Economic Analysis · Energy Information Administration · FEMA · U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development · FDIC · U.S. Environmental Protection Agency · FBI Crime Data Explorer · IRS Statistics of Income · U.S. Department of Education College Scorecard · and additional federal and state open-data programs (approximately 50 sources in total).
Licensed commercial sources: none currently in production. Licensed commercial sources, when added, will be listed here with any use restrictions that pass through to you.
Incenti-proprietary data: the Incenti incentives database and derived benchmarks, compiled by Incenti from public records — award publications, statutory and program materials, agency reports — through substantial independent effort. Public records reproduced within it remain public; Incenti's compilation, structure, enrichment and derived values are Incenti's property.
What is not here: your data. Incenti Insights contains no customer-contributed data. Benchmarks derived from customer platform data, where offered, are produced only under the aggregation and de-identification rules of MSA § 13, which include a ten-organization floor and suppression rules.
2. Terms that travel with the data
- Continuity. Third-party content is available for as long as Incenti maintains the corresponding source relationship or license. If a source is discontinued, repriced or restricted, the affected content may be excluded from the Offerings as Schedule B provides; where a licensed source is central to a capability you purchased, we will say so and work with you on alternatives.
- Pass-through restrictions (Schedule B § B.8). Where an upstream license restricts use of specific content more narrowly than your agreement does, that restriction passes through to you, and we will identify it here or in-product. Current pass-through restrictions: none — no licensed commercial source is in production today. Restrictions will appear here before any such source goes live.
- The standing rules travel everywhere. Whatever the source: no bulk extraction or redistribution of Incenti Data as a dataset; no use to train AI or machine-learning models; no re-identification of any person, company, project, property or contributing organization from de-identified or aggregated values; no removal of attribution or disclaimers. (MSA §§ 6.1, 12.7; Schedule B §§ B.7, B.9.)
3. How to cite Incenti
Charts, tables and figures in a report, memorandum, presentation or web page:
Source: Incenti Insights, Incenti Solutions, Inc. ([data year]). Underlying data: [agency or source], [vintage].
Economic and fiscal impact estimates additionally carry the model disclaimer affixed to the output; do not remove it.
In running text, first reference: "Incenti Insights (Incenti Solutions, Inc.)"; thereafter "Incenti Insights."
What attribution does not permit: implying that Incenti endorses your conclusions; presenting Incenti as the author of your analysis; or attributing to Incenti figures you have modified. Deliverables prepared for you by Incenti's consulting practice carry their own attribution affixed at delivery (Schedule C § C.8.5).
4. Corrections
Government sources revise their data; we ingest revisions on each source's publication cycle, and benchmark values may change accordingly. If you believe a value is wrong, write to insights@incenti.co with the value, the view it appears in, and the date — we investigate and correct confirmed errors in the next publication cycle.
